Wedding Season | Black Tie

With Spring comes longer days, warmer weather, and wedding season. The season we are all generally reminded of thanks to Facebook engagements, instagram'ed rings, and couple hastags. If you've been following my blog you'll know that in my day-job I work for a high-end wedding photographer here in the Bay Area.

Working in the wedding industry one comes to find out that this so called "wedding season" typically lasts the entire year. That being said, I have seen my fair share of wedding guest attire. From long ball gowns to a few "too-short" mini dresses. Finding the perfect dress can be a grueling process if you don't know what your looking for. Generally, with each wedding comes the unwritten set of dressing guidelines. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing my guide to get you wedding ready!

Black Tie:

Just because the wedding is a formal event does NOT mean a long gown is necessary. Midi-to-knee cut hemlines can fit the part if they are formal in nature. If you find yourself coming up empty handed in your dress search, I would recommend checking out Rent the Runway. The site is an excellent resource for designer gowns at incredibly affordable prices.
