Double Side Braids

This week has been a complete whirlwind, and it's only Wednesday! Yesterday I was up bright and early to film a special video with MODE media, I can't wait to share the finished product with you guys.

During the week I keep my hair easy and transitional, from work to dinner or gym or wherever my errands may take me. I've always been a fan of braids, but found that it took me forever to complete even the simplest styles. After much practice and try-and-error, I was able to master a few of the basics, one of them being the french braid.

While pinning up a storm I came across a few side braids styles (see here) that had me inspired to try my own. I loved the sleek edgy style, follow the steps below to try the look!

What you will need:

  • 4 Bobby-pins (in your hair color)
  • Comb (for parting hair)
  • A clip
  • Light hair spray

Directions:

Start with clean dried hair, create a center part and pull hair to either side. To the side of your choice divide one side of your hair into two sections, one for each braid.

Clip the bottom portion of hair to the side, leaving only the top sectioned hair. Begin french braiding with only the hair you selected for the top portion, your parts should be straight. Once your braid reaches the end of the ear secure with a bobby pin.

Remove the clip and continue to braid the lower portion of sectioned hair in the same style, stopping at the end of the ear. Finish with a light hold hairspray.
