Holiday Fête

The most wonderful time of the year is upon us once again! Between work parties, mulled wine sipping, and the chaos of gift shopping, shopping for oneself can often times get left to the last minute. To minimize the "I have nothing to wear" panic, I'm dishing my tips for looking great all season long. Festive dressing isn't all sequins and glitter, in fact I'd argue that the most practical looks aren't. For me incorporating festive fashion into my wardrobe is all about strategic layering. In San Francisco the weather can be chilly one minute and warm the next so keeping my ensemble transitional is key. As is true with any cold weather outfit a sturdy well structured jacket is a must. I love how this Sanctuary suede coat dress instantly creates a polished look when paired with denim. Weather permitting I can belt it to accentuate my waist, or drape it over my shoulders when heading indoors.

Denim is a year round closet staple but, this season I'm embracing the 70’s trend and taking the waistline high and the bells flared. A dark denim wash is perfect for the daytime and nighttime and pairs great with all color hues. Since the silhouettes’ of both the denim and coat are a bit exaggerated I keep my sweater sleek and form fitting. I'm a huge fan of showing off the waist of high-rise denim and a one piece sweater tucks in beautifully and doesn't leave you with bulky side effects. My key to dressing this season is to keep things comfortable! There really isn't any better feeling than wearing clothing that makes you feel amazing. After all, the better you feel, the better you look, and that's one gift to always give yourself!

xoxo,

Birdie
