Is your beauty routine weighing you down? We've all been there, battling the morning mirror and packing on the product to produce a glowy, fresh faced look. However, too much product can look heavy and actually end up taking away from your natural tone and glow. Learning to use and incorporate the right products into your routine will not only save you time, but it will also keep you looking great with fewer products. I’ve put together my own tried and true barely there beauty tips to help you get started!

If I've heard it once, I've heard it a dozen times, finding the right products for your skin is essential and is just as important as knowing your skin type and texture. My skin tends to be on the oily side, but I also have dry areas in the warmer months. A lightweight, full coverage moisturizer like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream, packs the punch of a dry skin formula without the thick consistency. It's light enough to use under makeup and won't leave your skin feeling oily or slick. I apply this all over my skin and let it sit for 5 minutes until it fully absorbs.

While I let my moisturizer set, I start on my eyes, multi-task people! I keep my eye makeup light for everyday wear and stick to a single shadow and primer. I normally opt for a primer close to my skin tone, like NYX eyeshadow base. It's super affordable and works like a charm. For the shadow, I recommend using a taupe or skin-tone shade with a light sheen or shimmer. This will add a bit of light to the eyes and brighten them up!

I further define my eyes with a dark brown eyeliner. Any formula with stay power will work just fine; I like liquid "pen-like" applicators. This will give you a sharp line, with little to no fuss. Once your moisturizer is set, it’s time to add a bit of coverage! For the work week I use a full coverage BB cream. For a flawless application, apply all over your face with a beauty blender or tapered makeup sponge. Conceal any additional redness or dark circles with a touch of concealer.

Add a bit of volume to lashes with a curling mascara. This will open eyes and make your face appear more "awake", which is something we could all use in the morning! The final products are where color comes into play! Apply a mauve-toned blush to the apples of your creeks. Perk up your lips with a bold and bright shade of pink. Play with texture and add a dose of high shine. Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Color gives definition to tired lips and brightens up the overall appearance of your skin tone.

The final step? A spritz of serious stay power! In an X and T like motion spray L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set. If you want your makeup to keep up with your 9-5 without feeling like it's slipping off halfway through the day, you’ll need this product! This powerful setting spray is a great product to wrap up your routine and get rid of the overall “powdery” appearance. With less than 10 products your beauty routine is complete, and you’re well on your way to a healthy barely there glow!

Keeping in line with the barely there beauty, I like to also keep my hair as soft and close to its natural style as possible. Starting with a clean wash, Shea Moisture's 10-in-1 system is a great antioxidant rich shampoo. The formula is sulfate-free, which helps prevent build up while protecting its color. Oh, and did I mention that this smells amazing? After a quick condition, I let my hair air-dry, which is great for naturally wavy hair!

Once my hair is completely dry I do a faux-beach wave curl, you can find a step-by-step tutorial here. Once complete I spritz with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray to keep my curls in place!
