If theres one thing I've learned these last few weeks, its to prepare for all occasions! I never gave much thought to the dress-to-drinks style, only because most of the time I had ample time to head home to freshen' up before heading out. This week I was tasked with preparing for a dinner out with little to no time to get ready. Let me tell you, it was not so easy as they make it seem.

You want to carry as little "extra" clothing as possible, all while using most of what you wore that day. When it came down to it I ended up reverting to the classic LBD and a pair of fun heels to completely transform my look. (I wish I had snapped a picture of my denim, hair tied before!) I love a good LBD, especially one with a unique or interesting silhouette! This French Connection number is the perfect mix of modern style, not to mention the super soft cotton fabric!  

To keep the look appropriate for cocktail hour I opted for a pair of studded Schutz sandals in a bright yellow.  The studded detail keeps the look playful, while adding a bit of color to the overall look! While I'm still getting the hang of this whole "desk-to-drinks" routine it is nice to be able to enjoy a nice glass of wine after long day!
