Dinner & A Premiere

Autumn is my favorite time of year thanks to the beautiful but chillier, near perfect weather. A drop in temperature tends to mean more time spent indoors, shifting the focus from sunny afternoons to snuggly evenings. Thankfully, plenty of my favorite shows are back on TV, making my love for cozy evenings perfectly acceptable.

When I'm not cozied up in front of the tube, I love to spend an evening in with friends and family. Normally, we'd meet at a local restaurant, but it's so much nicer to invite friends over to just relax and enjoy one another's company. One of my favorite ways to entertain is by having friends over for dinner and a premiere. It's a no-brainer since all of us love the same shows! When prepping my living space, I like to incorporate pieces in earth tones with hints of metallic accents. Another great way to get into the season is to pull together knitted throws and blankets and store them accessibly throughout your space.

Target has always been one of my go-to stores for affordable, on-trend home decor. I spied these gorgeous gold plates and knew they were perfect for the season, not to mention they look great when displayed. Of course, no fall home is complete without a little plaid, and these Threshold fringed towels add that classic fall feeling.

When it comes to the menu, I keep things easy and delicious and prepare hearty meals like pasta or soup. Paired with a fresh baguette, these satisfy any palate! If friends ask what to bring, suggest a bottle of wine—if not just themselves. My biggest tip for entertaining: Don’t overcomplicate it! The best dinner parties or get-togethers are those thrown in spur-of-the-moment fashion.

Birdie
