Making Changes with Paula's Choice

The time between seasons tends to be the time when my skin rebels against routine. With weather and the occasional stressors, break outs and pesky dry skin are unavoidable. Typically, my skin care routine consists of different brands and products I've picked up over the months and worked into my beauty regime, some staying in the cabinet while most fall in the waist basket. When Paula's Choice approached me to chat with one of their skin care consultants I jumped at the opportunity. The last time I met or discussed my skin woes with someone was back in high school, and was more or less for hormonal acne. The thought of jumping into a new and well balanced skin care routine was exciting and daunting. I'm not the best at consistent routines and feared that I'd forget crucial steps in the process.

After my consultation with the expect and all around skin care goddess, I was sent several products to help assist my skin concerns. The routine was comprised of a morning, evening, routine. Luckily the products came with handy stickers to signify AM/PM use which was a helpful reminder in the initial weeks. In reality it's been awhile since my stubborn forgetfulness of my teen years and keeping up with the skin care steps and products was actually pretty easy. Below are the guidelines for the products used:

AM - EVENING REGIME

Resist Perfectly Balanced Cleanser is formulated for anyone with normal to oily/combination and blemish-prone skin, who desires an effective oil-reducing cleanser that promotes comfortable skin.

Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant exfoliates both the skin's surface and inside the pore, unclogging pores and improving skin’s appearance. The result is a dramatic improvement in the skin's appearance, feel and function. The lightweight liquid formula allows for a faster, but gentle, deep exfoliation rate than our gel or lotion BHA products, so it's an ideal choice for stubborn clogged pores.

Resist C15 Super Booster + Resist Pure Radiance Skin Brightening Treatment perfect power couple reduces dark spots and fades red marks from acne for a radiant, youthful complexion. Continued use, coupled with daily application of sunscreen, will prevent discolorations from coming back and keep new discolorations from appearing.

Resist Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 water-light moisturizer protects from sun damage, prevents the signs of aging, and hydrates without adding oil.

PM - EVENING REGIME

RESIST Cleanser
2% BHA Liquid
RESIST Skin Brightening Treatment + 2-3 drops of RESIST C15
RESIST Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol contains a unique complex of ingredients proven to, provide firmer-looking skin and protect against moisture loss. The feather-light, silky texture provides substantial hydration.

It's been about three weeks now and I've been very diligent and sticking to using the products! There's definitely a few changes in the overall texture and several of my dark spots have began lightened. Originally, one of my biggest concerns was that my skin was a hot mess, my t-zone was oily while my forehead was often very dry. It made finding a foundation a pain and trying to balance the oil-prone areas even harder. The BHA Liquid Exfoliant has definitely helped even things out and my dry spots have began to look more on par with the other areas of my skin. The oil although not gone has also began to balance out and I haven't needed to reach for blotting paper as often. The moisturizer has been a saving grace and I've been loving the way it absorbs when applied to be skin. Not only that but, it also has a high SPF which eliminates having to apply an additional sunscreen.

I'm going to continue the program a full month and then circle back with a few before and after pictures. If all goes well, this may just replace my hodgepodge skin care routine!
