Life in Denim

Life is too short to wear uncomfortable denim.

During the past decade, and probably prior to that I’ve been living my life in jeans or a form of them. Since moving to San Francisco, I’ve adopted the mantra that life in general is better when you feel confident and comfortable in your clothing. I’ve grown to learn what styles work with my body, which denim is most stretchy, and why low-rise jeans should be banned. I mean, there truly isn’t any reason to feel the need to force your way into a style that won’t fit or flatter your body shape. I personally prefer a mid-to-high rise denim that sits comfortably at the top of my waist, which is why I’ve been living in The Limited’s Mid Rise Skinny Jean.

I’m always on the skeptical side when trying-on a new brand of denim. I fear that I’ll love the look or feel of the jeans and then be disappointed when I find they aren’t made for my body type. When I put The Limited’s new line of jeans to the test I hit the blue jean lotto. The term ‘fits like a glove’ does not do these jeans justice. I ordered my trial size 6,  which can vary between an 8, and was pleasantly surprised when I could wear them all day with no muffin top, uncomfortable tugging, or repositioning. They just fit!

I wanted to share a typical look (as in I shot what I wore to work) and really stress the importance of why finding a good pair of denim is so important to me! I mean, generally speaking they are my work life uniform. From the daily commute to running errands you can always catch me in a version of this outfit. A combination of a oversized anorak, cozy t-shirt, and well fitting jeans is a staple in every San Francisco's girls wardrobe.

Birdie
