3 Steps to the Perfect Holiday Look

When the holiday season rolls around I instantly think of luxe knits, a bold lip and plenty of glitz. As fun and exciting as the holiday season can be it's easy to get overwhelmed by attempting to recreate new outfits for each and every holiday party. This is why I’ve partnered with Dove and WeAllGrow Latina Network to put together a few helpful tips to guide you from frustrated to fabulous!

Get Glowing

One of my favorite beauty tips for the holiday season is to treat your skin to a healthy glow. Now, I'm not talking about a fake looking tan but, a soft and subtle glow that will highlight skin in the most flattering way. To recreate this apply a gradual tanner with a hint of shimmer on both the upper torso and legs. Focus on the decclotte, once tanner has been applied and is dry you can follow up by applying a touch of bronzer on the collar bones. This will enhance the neckline, creating the perfect canvas for a statement necklace.

The anti-LBD

When it comes to holiday dressing don't go for the obvious. Most women have a well fitted little black dress in their closet but, the holiday season is the time to shine! Play up an ordinary neckline with a faux fur stole, wear a jumpsuit, or even a sequin pant! When getting ready I set clothes out well before getting my glam on. This way when it comes time to getting dressed there is no question on what I'm wearing. Another trick I've picked up over the years is to use a dry spray like Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant. The spray applies clear and lasts for up to 48 hours, giving you plenty of time to dance the night away.

BE BOLD

Nothing says I'm ready for the holidays better than a bold red lip! Most of my holiday beauty routines center around a dramatic lip, and this season I'm siding with matte lip colors for the best color pay-off. Most holiday parties involve plenty of eating and drinking which can leave your lips lacking by the time appetizers are passed. My trick for beating the red lip residue is to apply a combination of both lip liner and a long wear matte lipstick.

What is your favorite thing about the holidays? Do you have and fun celebrations planned?

xoxo,

Birdie
