It’s been a little over 4 months since we’ve moved into our new place. Aside from missing our city surroundings, local bodega, and beach-side location the move has been great! One thing we did gain when we left San Francisco is space! Our SF spot was cute and cozy, but wasn’t practical for a newly-wed pair. Now in Walnut Creek our spot has plenty of room for us to grow into, including a space for an office and guest bedroom. While the extra bedrooms are a work in progress we decided to focus a majority of our time and decor budget into completing the master.
We both gravitate towards spaces that are both practical, but that also have a bohemian, relaxed feel to them. We were lucky enough to already own a lot of the larger furniture pieces, such as our headboard, which my dad made out of reclaimed wood, and the mid-century dresser, which was also a DIY. As for the other elements in the room, we went with natural tones and elements and stuck to a color palette of white, black, dark wood, and blue. The decor itself is something we went back and forth on for awhile. We browsed online for pieces, went to the Alameda Antique fair and also mixed in things we already owned or were gifted.
One thing we were sure on is that we wanted to feature a picture from our wedding. Our photographers had done an incredible job preserving our day and having an image framed would be such a great reminder of it! With the help of the team at Framebridge we were able to directly upload the high-res photo and see it framed in a ton of different styles. We ended up going with a thin, black, bamboo frame, called the Bali. The print itself is pretty big, but balances so nicely with other elements in the space, not to mention it looks beautiful!
The experience working with Framebridge couldn’t have been smoother and I can’t tell you how many people comment on the quality and price-point of the frame. For under $200 we had it shipped, matted, and framed, which is a total steal!
