5 Easy Slow Cooker Meals for Fall

I don't know about you, but I'm a girl who loves her cool-weather foods! I love preparing slow cooker meals in the fall as a time-saving measure. Slow Cooker meals are perfect for those looking to stretch their budget and please a crowd - even if it's just you and your partner. They are both delicious and cost-effective, so it is the perfect meal idea for the season. I've partnered with Walmart to share 5 of my family's favorite crockpot recipes. They're all incredibly easy to prepare, and you can find everything you need at your local Walmart store!

SALSA CHICKEN VERDE

Salsa Chicken Verde is one of my all-time favorite slow cooker dishes. It’s perfect for preparing for a crowd and smells incredible as it’s cooking. We love to prepare this during football season since it takes less than 1o minute to prepare and makes for the most flavorful chicken tacos.

Serve this with warmed corn or flour tortillas.

Ingredients

How to Prepare

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper and place chicken in the crock pot.

  2. Place salsa verde, tomatoes, onion, and spices; stir well to combine.

  3. Cover and cook for 3.5 hours on HIGH or 5 hours on LOW.

  4. Remove the lid and transfer chicken breasts to a cutting board; using two forks, shred the chicken.*

  5. Stir the shredded chicken back into the crock pot and cook an additional 30 mins.

  6. Season with S&P if needed.

  7. Serve with corn or flour tortillas and toppings of your choice!

Easy Slow Cooker Meals for Fall

Slow-cooker meals are so much more than just soups. Some of my favorites could serve as main dishes. Many of these meals, including the one mentioned above, only require a handful of ingredients, saving you time and money. In addition, with low-price quality private brands, you never have to feel like you are “trading down” when you purchase Walmart Brands.

I’m a creature of habit and tend to revisit my favorite recipes year after year. Most of our favorite slow cooker meals fall under the same category of not only being easy to prepare but also only requiring a handful of ingredients. The great thing about most of these recipes is that they can be adapted to the tools you have on hand. For example, if you prefer to slow cook on the stove or utilize an instant pot, these recipes can easily be adjusted to your needs. These recipes come from some of my favorites from online food creators and foodie outlets.

  1. BBQ Chicken - Half Baked Harvest

This may be one of my all-time favorite BBQ Chicken recipes! It’s perfect for fall but could easily be prepared year-round. Make this for friends during football season, and serve on mini Hawaiian rolls for easy bites.

  2. Pot Roast - Bon Appétit

An easy way to impress a crowd (or yourself) with your cooking skills is to prepare a pot roast. They taste incredible and only require basic instructions. This recipe prep is short, sweet, and will get you all the praise you deserve!

  3. Chicken Tortilla Soup

I’m typically biased regarding chicken tortilla soup, but this recipe is close to mine and marks all the boxes. Cooking this soup low and slow will help build the overall flavor!

  4. Meatballs with Grape Jelly Sauce

Don’t let the name fool you; this makes for one delicious meatball! This is also the perfect slow-cooker meal to prepare for your family (even with little ones.) For additional timesaving measures, use your favorite frozen meatballs!
