How to Navigate Dressing Between Seasons

Thank you to ModCloth for partnering with me on this post, all opinions expressed here are my own!

Is there any better feeling than waking up to a cool brisk morning or that cozy oversized sweater you stole from your mom’s closet years ago? If you ask me there aren't many things that I love more than the arrival of autumn. Being that it's still well above the 80 degrees I'm gradually making my way into thicker knits and heavier fabrics. This is the tricky part about dressing between seasons, the weather doesn't always cooperate! The good thing is the mornings and evenings are noticeably cooler, so this makes it easy to layer with fall essentials.

For me, the best transitional pieces are those which can be styled with a variety of short or long sleeve blouses. A pair of denim overalls are timeless, but a pair of blue velvet ones offer up so much more personality, subtly is not my strong suit. When Kev and I went to photograph this look we were lucky enough to catch the weather on a rather mild evening, which thankfully kept sweat at bay! ModCloth knows a thing or two about showcasing clothing that has both personality and versatility. I always seem to find that the pieces I purchase go together in unexpected ways.

I had originally planned on wearing a cotton tee and a long sleeve cardigan with these overalls but ended up going with this red striped blouse. Like I said, unexpected, but surprisingly it works!
