How To Throw An End of Summer Brunch

No matter how big or small, summer brunches are somewhat of a regular occurrence around our household. We’re lucky enough to have a ton of great friends and family in our neighborhood and have taken full advantage of it by sharing our weekends on the back patio. The great thing about hosting a brunch is that they’re pretty easy to plan, even if thrown impromptu! We prefer to keep our menu full of hearty breakfast favorites and, of course, never forget to include NESCAFÉ® CLÁSICO™ as our coffee of choice. If you’re looking to gather your friends this coming weekend for a summer brunch and have no idea where to start, take a look at these simple steps below.

Start With Coffee

Most of us can agree that mornings that start with a fresh cup of coffee are the best! When greeting your guest, offer them a fresh cup of coffee to kick off your brunch. Nescafé Clásico is bold in taste and offers a flavorful aroma that is a perfect jumpstart to a weekend morning, not to mention its instant brew formula is a breeze to make. To make the perfect cup, pour coffee into a mug, add 6 oz. of hot water and stir until granules are dissolved. If you want to make it bolder, add more coffee. If it is too strong, add hot water. Nescafé Clásico is readily available and can be purchased at Walmart.

Keep it Casual

We prefer to host brunches with a casual and fun atmosphere to avoid getting stressed or feeling like we have to over plan. I keep most, if not all, of the items for the tablescape on hand, with the occasional addition of fresh flowers. These can easily be picked up at our Saturday Farmer’s Market or a local grocery store. I’d suggest keeping decorations to a minimum to ensure sightlines are clear so you can interact with your guests. This also allows you to serve your food family style, where guest can take what they’d like and pass the dish around the table.

Set the Table in Advance

However informal your gathering may be, it’s always a good idea to set your table. This allows guests to find a seat and settle in, versus having to stand while you set out dishes or glassware. The focus is less about the placement of things and more about the general feeling. We like to keep each place setting anchored with a plate, flatware, water cup, and the optional glass for champagne. Depending upon what’s on your menu, you could also add a side plate or additional glass.

Once your food is ready to serve, make a note to also remember to bring your beverages to the table. We like to keep a kettle on hand to offer Nescafé Clásico refills and also a jug of water infused with fresh fruit. This way, you won’t find yourself running back and forth to the kitchen and can enjoy your company and meal.

Keep your Menu Delicious and Hearty

Breakfast has long been the most important meal of the day, not to mention the most delicious if you ask me! When picking out what to serve at a brunch, I always keep the family style method of cooking in mind. For example, can these items be easily prepared and passed around the table? With that in mind, most menu items fall under the category of quick and easy. Nescafé Clásico is perfect for an easy way to prepare and serve coffee. Scrambles are great for a crowd and can incorporate a variety of fresh veggies, while a side of maple-glazed bacon is always a favorite. Just make sure to balance your hearty menu with lighter sides of fruit or yogurt.
