October Beauty Favorites
October was what I would describe as a back-to-beauty month. I started to test a lot of new products, which made picking a select few to feature harder than normal. The thing that I found most interesting was that more than half of my picks fell under the skin care category. As I hone in on a winter routine I’ve been lathering up with skin hydrating formulas with preventative benefits. If you have any new favorites I’d love to hear about them in the comment section!
Make Up Forever Pro Light Fusion
For my night time look I like to play up my cheekbones and eyes. Because of this I love to try new highlighters, which brings me to Make Up Forever’s Pro Light Fusion. The formula is creamy and gives off the most incredible dewy-glow, it’s a total game changer!
StriVectin TL Neck Cream
My day job and blogging puts me behind the screen and on my phone more than I’d like to admit. In our generation it’s something many of us often don’t pay much mind to that can cause premature wrinkles on the neck or the dreaded neck sag. Although I haven’t noticed anything just yet, I’m taking preventive measures to keep the skin on my neck and decollete supple and tight. So far I’ve been enjoying incorporating this into my AM/PM skincare routine and look forward to seeing improvements over the next few months.
OSCAR BLANDI DRY SHAMPOO POWDER SPRAY
As a girl who doesn’t wash her hair daily I reply on dry shampoo! With the change in season and temperature my hair has been in a bit of a lull, lacking volume and texture. This dry-shampoo has been a huge lifesaver in-between washings. I spray this along my rootS and center part and rub with my fingertips so that my hair absorbs the product. After a minute or two I then follow up with a comb to blend with hair. The product blends nicely with my hair and never show residue or that weird matte texture that cheaper products can often do.
DIPTYQUE SATIN OIL
The older I get the more I get into skin oils. For the longest time I associated body oils with the unwanted shine that often appears in my z-tone. Fast forward five years and I’m well aware that these two have little to do with each other. I’m a huge fan of Diptyque fragrances and absolutely love the smell of this product. The satin oil has clean, soft scent with a really luxe texture. It's somewhat of an all-around product and you can apply to both your hair and body. I love using this after a shower when the product can really absorb into the skin.
IT! COSMETICS BRUSH SET
The great thing about this time of year is the beauty gift sets which make their annual debut. I typically always try and invest in a least one set for myself and another for a friend. It’s a great value, and and even better opportunity to expand your brush collection. If you decide to gift this to yourself or a friend I’d definitely suggest checking out IT! Cosmetic’s line of brushes. The quality of their products is top notch, especially when it comes to their makeup brushes. One of my favorites is Heavenly luxe powder brush!
MAKE UP FOR EVER ARTIST ROUGE LIPSTICK
It comes at no surprise that these babies wound up in my monthly favorites. I was generously gifted a few shades to try and have been absolutely addicted. After a few month obsession with matte liquid lipstick, this formula was a welcomed change. The consistency is super creamy and glides on lips for a matte, flawless finish.
LUNA BRONZE GRADUAL TANNER
I’ve come a long way since my days of streaky legs and tanner stained hands. Tanning companies have done wonders to transform their formulas to benefit the outcome of their products. Luna bronzer is a great alternative to dark tanning sprays and gives off a glowy shade that's complementary to skin. The product is a gradual formula which makes it the perfect product to use during the fall and winter months.
