ORC WEEK 1: Main Bathroom Moodboard

It’s that time of year again; time to kick off our next ORC! This season we’re focusing our 6-week makeover on our main bathroom! It’s been on our to-do list for quite some time and is in desperate need of some TLC and style. We will have our work cut out for us, but I’m looking forward to diving into another indoor project. Especially since this is a space, we’ll use daily! Keep reading to see our plans for the spring ORC.

The One Room Challenge is hosted twice a year in spring and again in Fall and run for 6-weeks. I’m thrilled to be participating as a guest, and I look forward to starting this challenge and connecting with fellow bloggers! I’ll be posting each week to share our main bathroom's on-going progress while highlighting our weekly to-do list (more on that below)!

Main Bathroom mock-up

Our main bathroom (connected to our primary bedroom) is one of the only rooms in our home that hasn’t been touched. Its original state is fine, but in terms of style is a jumble. The previous flipper poorly replaced the shower and floor tiles and had very little attention to detail. The original bulb vanity lights were left (with only two lights working), and a large triptych vanity mirror. The vanity was a bargain find and is chipped and very standard builder grade.

From the tone of this description, I’m sure you can tell that I’m NOT a fan of this bathroom. This makes me SO excited to finally be able to share our plans for its complete makeover during this season’s ORC. My main goal for this remodel to make it purposeful and functional for myself and my husband (oh, and pretty!) We’ll be keeping the floor plan consistent with its current layout and focusing on investing in quality fixtures, tile, and proper installation. This project will be a mix of DIY projects and a few that we’ll hire out - such as the plumbing (I know my limits).

In terms of the overall vibe of the space, I’m hoping to achieve a relaxed, organic modern feel that blends with the rest of our home’s decor. We’ll utilize a neutral cool-tone color pallet and natural elements such as stone and wood. If you enjoy this moodboard, keep scrolling to see some of the inspiration sources I was inspired by.
