The Practical Way to Wear Heels!

I received compensation from Dr. Scholl’s® to write this post. All opinions are entirely my own.

Heels, we love em' and we hate them. As a woman who lusts after the latest embellished pump or sky-high stiletto, my feet and the pain that normally ensues 30 minutes into wearing them keeps my purchasing power at bay. Over the years I've grinned through the blisters and can typically last a few hours before complaining of discomfort to my husband or girlfriends. When prepping for New York Fashion Week this season I was warned by more than a few fashion vets to keep it comfortable when it came to picking my footwear.

I've always considered myself a practical person, especially when it comes to fashion so when Dr. Scholl’s approached me to take their Stylish Step™ insoles for a spin my reply was an enthusiastic, “YES!” I have worn insoles by Dr. Scholl’s when I played sports and swore by them through high school and college. For some reason, I hadn't (until now) put the pieces together to wear insoles inside my heels or boots. The Stylish Step™ Ball of Foot insole is thin, yet padded and slips discreetly into your shoe to provide added cushioning to the ball of foot. The clear gel with discrete cushioning is specifically designed for a heel which makes it perfect for women like myself who love a high pump or heeled sandal yet hate the pain.

When it came to putting these to the true test I knew I needed to go all out and attempt to wear high heels to an event where I would most likely be on my feet for a majority of the time, and what better event than the biggest fashion week of the year, New York Fashion Week? If you’ve ever been to a fashion show before, you're well aware of the complete chaos that ensues before and after sending models down the runway. And while I’ve never graced a catwalk I am familiar with the hustle and bustle that goes on outside and inside the tents. If you’re not one of the lucky individuals who was able to grab a seat, chances are it's standing room only, which means plenty of time spent on your feet!

As if that wasn’t enduring enough there's still plenty of running around to do in between shows, not to mention events, meetings, and hopefully a chance to finally sit down and grab a bite. By that time your feet have been put to the extremes! Since many of my heels aren’t necessarily “breathable” materials, Stylish Step™ insoles help keep feet dry and will preventing your foot from slipping uncomfortably into the heel area.

One of the best things about Stylish Step™ insoles is there isn't a special website you need to order from or a number to call on a shopping network. Stylish Step™ insoles are available in your local Target! So just think, on your next “Tar Jay” run, stop down the footcare aisle near the pharmacy and check out the Stylish Step™ line and their assortment of insoles. While I was there picking up a few last minute necessities for my trip I also picked up the Dr. Scholl's Stylish Step™ Clear Cushioning Insoles for Flats. The soft gel arch shifts the pressure off the ball of foot for added comfort.  Right now, you can get a Cartwheel offer for Stylish Step™ at Target. Find out more here!

When you think about it there really isn't any reason to feel pain, treat your feet and go for comfort!

xoxo,

Birdie
