Thanksgiving Style Guide

Thanksgiving is right around the corner (hello, next week), and many of us are still scratching our heads about what to wear. I’ve worn everything from jeans and a blouse to a maxi dress and a faux fur jacket. It just depends on your crowd. Walmart has everything you need for all your holiday gatherings, including Thanksgiving! With a variety of events on the agenda. In today’s post, I’m partnering with Walmart fashion to share some of my favorite finds of the season. I’ve also created a style guide for each occasion to help build your Thanksgiving attire.
Thanksgiving at Home
What to wear to Thanksgiving at home? Each hosted holiday event will vary from family to family, but, generally speaking, I like to think of this occasion as comfortable yet, polished. My go-to each year has been a maxi or midi-dress with a sweater or cropped jacket. Boots or loafers are best for footwear, especially if you’ll be standing and mingling. I’d avoid anything too form fitting and stick to clothing that is comfortable. This fringe wrap skirt has a higher waist and would pair perfectly with a over the knee boot and sweater.
Friendsgiving
What to wear to Friendsgiving? Flex your fashion muscles and go for something fun or playful. Since you’ll most likely be dining inside, you can opt for lighter layers. A green faux leather kick-flare pant is perfect for this occasion and could be styled with a heeled bootie or a pair of mule loafers. For a dressier take, wear a printed dress and belt it at the waist to define the waist. Go bold with the jewelry and opt for a statement necklace or textured pair of hoop earrings. Walmart has a HUGE selection of on trend accessories that are both affordable and on-trend.
Post-Thanksgiving
What to wear after Thanksgiving? If you’re anything like me, the post-Thanksgiving day is for lounging and fun. Because of this, you’ll always catch me in casual attire - if not sweatpants! If you plan a day of leisure, check out Walmart’s selection of sweatsuit sets and cotton separates.
