Bistec Cuban Sandwich
Directions:
I based much of the recipe off what I could picture and remember from my Sol Food experience. I started by doing a simple prep of the necessary ingredients, whipping up the Garlic Aioli, slicing my onion into thin pieces and cutting the avocado into long lengthwise pieces. Next, I sautéed my onions and set them aside to let them cool. I had the deli slice the steak 2x as think as they usually cut, so the layers would be nice and thin. On a hot stove top griddle cook up your meat, it will only need to be on for a minute, just until it becomes slightly darker.
To assemble your sandwich, by applying a layer of the aioli to both pieces of bread. Stack the cheese avocado, steak, and onions and put completed sandwich into your panini press. Press until sandwich is flat and the Swiss cheese has begun to melt. Cut in half and serve with a sweet & spicy dipping sauce!
