How to Organize Your Bathroom with The Home Edit

This post was written in partnership with Walmart, all opinions are my own.

With the hall bathroom makeover completed, it was time to finally get the drawers and cabinets organized! I knew I wanted to utilize containers from The Home Edits’ latest launch with Target! The new releases include clever storage for hair accessories and stacking containers - which is perfect for this bathroom. The drawers of the current bathroom vanity are long and narrow, which makes them challenging to work with. Luckily, The Home Edit containers fit like a glove and provide much needed organization for this small space!

Keep reading to see which container’s I used in this shared bathroom.

how to organize a bathroom

The latest arrivals from Walmart’s partnership with The Home Edit provide solutions to everyday organizing problems. The timing of this release couldn’t have been better, as I was wrapping up the unnecessary bathroom project. I had previously organized a few vanity drawers, but after several months of sharing a bathroom as a family of 3, it needed reworking. I wanted to ensure each drawer served a purpose and wasn’t a dumping ground for hair ties and deodorant.

I mentioned that the vanity drawer dimensions are tricky, but using The Home Edit containers as a system, I could puzzle-piece them into each drawer perfectly. The first thing I did was take inventory of what products we had and how we use the bathroom space. Since this room is shared by each family member I wanted it to function seamless! That means it needs to be practical for busy school mornings and we should never be searching for things we use on a daily basis.

With this in mind we positioned items we use more than twice a daily in the top drawers of the vanity. This items are things like tooth brushes, toothpaste, Qtips, skincare and contacts. The next drawers are items that still get daily use, but need to be at a level that Evie (our 3-year-old) can have access to. Within these we placed hair accessories and hair brushes. The lower drawers have products that aren’t always used on a daily basis and can store items like trash bags, bathroom fragrances, larger hair tools, and headbands.

I realized that this organization might seem off to some, but it depends on how you utilize your bathroom. Therefore each organized space is unique based on how it functions for your family! So far, this system has been working out great. We’ve doubled our storage capacity by adding more organizers from The Home Edits line. Isn’t that crazy? It shows you that planning and using storage containers can help with functionality!
