t’s morning, things are hectic, clothes are strewn, and lunches are being disputed. It’s safe to say those mornings are less desirable, but they’re bound to happen! That said, staying organized and on schedule is a sure way to enjoy more leisurely mornings. For your daily commutes and school drop-offs, here are ten car essentials to keep on hand for your child. All items can be found at your local Walmart! (Bonus Points: save time when shopping with the Walmart+ membership free delivery with no markups - $35 order min. • Spill-Proof Cups - Spills can range from mild to “turn the car around” in minutes. Avoid unnecessary spills with spill-proof cups! There is an option for every picky toddler with an array of options, characters, and styles!

  • Emergency (on-the-go) First Aid Kit - Take a note from this accident prone-parent. First aid kits come in handy when you least expect it! Even if it’s used at an after-school park date for a stubborn splinter, they’re 100% necessary and will get plenty of use through the years!

  • Cup Liners - Most car seats and boosters come equipped with cup holders for your kiddos’ beverages. This is great! What’s not is a years-worth of sticky residue or snack crumbs. Silicone cup liners easily slip into the cup holders on your child’s seat for easy cleaning!

  • Seat Hooks - Backpacks and lunch boxes have met their match! Stay organized and keep your floor clean and accessible with seat hooks. These clever hooks slide on the headrest and are perfect for holding just about anything, including Walmart Grocery Bags, purses, or additional baggage when traveling.

  • Backseat Organizer - Going to be in the car for a longer commute? Backseat organizers are perfect for stashing items to keep your child occupied and entertained. Keep tissues, baby wipes, mess-free activity books, or even an iPad for longer drives between school and sports.

  • Extra Change of Clothing - Accidents happen; it’s just a fact of life! Keeping a spare change of clothes is an excellent plan for maintaining life.

  • Toddler Potty-Seat (with Lysol wipes) - If you have a toddler that is currently potty training or has just recently been trained, it’s crucial to stay prepared. We recently purchased a toddler potty insert for traveling and can’t recommend it enough! It folds to a small size and can easily store in its protective bag!

  • Tissues - The start of the school year always seems to prompt early flu season. With this in mind, having a pack of tissues on hand to take care of runny noses is a must!

  • Paper Towels & Baby Wipes - Any parent will tell you how many uses baby wipes have. They’re great all-around wipes far beyond their original purpose and gentle on the skin.

  • Snacks - Keep your small passenger’s hanger at bay! Having a variety of snacks on hand for hungry kids (and adults) make for a smoother ride. Stick to non-perishable items without ingredients that can melt. (Beef Jerky, mixed nuts, fruit bars, apple sauce pouches.)

  • Air Fresheners - Keep the good vibes and smells going with easy vent clip-on air fresheners. We love the scents by Glade, which are available at Walmart!
