Oversized Elements

Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and spring layering is in full effect. One thing I love about living in San Francisco is that the weather generally falls between the low 60s and mid 70s, which means layering is a must. The mornings are much chiller but, normally warm up in the late afternoons. One combination I've been wearing a lot lately is a dress/skirt worn under a heavier jacket. I love the look of over exaggerated lengths, like a bulky coat and slim dress or flowy skirt and streamlined jacket.

It's funny how playing with proportions can trick the eye into seeing a silhouette. This camel coat is warm enough for the morning commute, and light enough to cross over my shoulders if need be. When I first tried it on my boyfriend made a remark that it looked like I was wearing an old robe, I'm sure you can guess my reaction? " This?! Are you kidding me?" I will give a little credit that after I styled it he was much more open to the whole thing.

Which brings me to another point, it's so clear to me that girls dress for girls way more than we do the men in our lives. I don't even try to get kevs option on things anymore (insert shoulder shrug emoji) the opinion I care about most is my ladies! So shoot me a comment below with your thoughts.
