A Modern Take on Classic Wedding Cocktail
When Palm Springs is the destinations for your nuptials, there is always an emphasis on the sun, great design, and yes, modern cocktails. If you're anything like Kev and me, choosing cocktails to serve at your wedding is a no-brainer! Sticking to classic cocktail and drink pairings and elevating the ingredients is the way to go, no second guessing, "what's in this", or having weird dyes or mixers, just the basics, done well and done right! One of our particular favorites is the greyhound, not only is it refreshing, but when made with fresh-squeezed ruby red grapefruit it's one of the best!
To take this classic cocktail to the next level we incorporated VOVETI Prosecco and eased back on the vodka, to keep this a drink our guest sip throughout the evening without feeling so weighted down. When choosing a Prosecco to pair with this cocktail we knew we wanted something that was both dry and incorporated fruit flavors that would taste on par with the grapefruit. VOVETI features flavors or pear, green apple, melon and ripe peach that linger on the palate and invites a second glass. Because the Glera grapes are aged in large tanks with less pressure Prosecco bubbles are light, frothy and have more spritz than champagne does. VOVETI prosecco is a dry brut DOC Prosecco with tempered acidity and a fresh profile leaving it on the sweeter end of the spectrum, which is perfect for pairing with saltier appetizers!
Ingredients:
- 4 oz. VOVETI Prosecco
- 1½ oz. Grapefruit
- ½ oz. fresh lime
- ½ oz. vodka
How-to:
Add ½ ounce of vodka, 1½ ounces grapefruit, ½ ounce fresh lime to a wine glass and stir. Top with 4 ounces chilled VOVETI Prosecco. Garnish with lime or grapefruit wheel.
If you are married, did you incorporate a signature cocktail at your wedding? I'd love to hear what you chose!

Birdie
