How to Style A Holiday Bar Cart with Roscato Wine
This post was written in partnership with Roscato, all opinions are my own!
Tis’ the season for holiday parties and gatherings! The idea of planning, hosting, and gathering friends for a get-together can have your head spinning on where to start first. For this reason I prefer impromptu gatherings that casually bring friends together (i.e no pressure on you to plan, and very easy for friends to say YES to!) The easiest way I’ve found to prep for gatherings like this is to pre-style our bar cart so friends can serve themselves. Side note: if you don’t happen to have a bar cart you can easily do this set up on a credenza or table top!
Give it a Good Clean: First, if your cart has been sitting in the corner for what feel like months give it a good clean! Ours features a mirrored base and bottom so even with monthly cleanings it still tends to be a dust collector. The best method would be to clear everything off the top and bottom racks and dust or clean accordingly. Once your cart is looking spic and span go ahead and leave everything off, this will give you the best overview on host to style, and what barware seems excessive.
Start with the Basics: Prior to doing any decorating, I also pre-plan where I’d like to set up my wine, alcohol, mixers, and trays. The basic set-up is as follows, arrange a wine-bucket (wait to fill with ice!) tray, and your preferred alcohol and any mixers you’d like to accompany these. I prefer to stick to two varieties and pour the mixers into juice containers for easy serving. Should you have room you can also place accompaniments like cut limes, simple syrup, and extra ice.
On the bottom keep extra glasses or barware that you’ll guest will need to serve themselves, think wine glasses, high-balls, or tumblrs. You can also store extra wine or alcohol and replace as the open bottles are emptied.
Add a Touch of Holiday Spirit: Whether your plan planning on incorporating festive accompaniments (like pomegranates or rosemary) or decorating with garland and flowers do so in a may that doesn’t interfere with your guest ability to pick things up. (I.E no need to go overboard with the decorations!) I like to hang garland from the handles of the bar cart, thing way it’s out of the way, but still a festive touch!
