How do I approach a sale season?
I always like to do a cleanout before springtime sale season kicks off so that I have a better understanding of what I need or could use this season. The Spring Event Sale will run through Saturday, March 9, 2020, so you have plenty of time to access your closet situation! Styles are limited, so you may consider doing this sooner than later! If you’re looking for tips on how to approach a cleanout, I have a few posts here and here that will help! I start with the essentials, items that may or may not be lacking in my current wardrobe. Any stained, over-worn, or damaged basics get tossed. These essentials are the first thing that I add to my basket, tee-shirts, denim shorts, and light outerwear (denim, cotton, or cashmere.)
WHAT TREND PIECES TO PURCHASE FOR SPRING 2020?
My style preference has continued to change over the years, and while I still dabble in the occasional trend, I’m much more conscious of which trends I choose! I know which styles lend themselves to my figure and which to steer clear of. This year I’ll be leaning towards maxi printed dresses, crochet separates, and exaggerated sleeves! I always seem to gravitate towards graphic tees or sweaters and aim for high-mid rise pants or shorts. Overall comfort is critical for me if its ill-fitting or not a comfortable fabric; it just isn’t going to work with my lifestyle.
SPRING 2020 ACCESSORIES & SHOES
There is a HUGE style revival going on when it comes to this year’s top shoe and accessory trends. I can distinctly remember wearing square-toed strappy sandals and platform wedges in early 2000! I love that these styles are making a resurgence, but instead of the previous tacky colors, I’ll be opting for neutral shades. As for jewelry, minimal lines, and fun friendship inspired bracelets (perfect for stacking) and on my agenda!
