The Best High-Rise Jeans
Can we agree that the days of low-rise denim are a thing of the past? The best fit for anybody rests in the fit of high-rise jeans! From slender and narrow, petite to curvy or plus high waisted denim is a must-have closet staple. Over the years, I’ve collected, swapped, and donated my way to the best selection of high-rise jeans currently on the market. The key to a great pair of jeans is knowing what rise is suited for your frame. A couple of high-waisted jeans should fit just at your belly button or slightly above. Finding your golden fit will mean no more tugging on belt straps or having to worry about adding a belt to ensure they stay put.
Depending upon your fabric preference, you can go with no-stretch denim, like Levis. Or, a Lycra or stretch denim, such as Madewell. Or something with a right mix of sturdy denim with a slight stretch like American Eagle or Reformation. Luckily, there is no shortage of great quality denim, and the best high rise jeans are available at most price points.

Most high-waisted denim that has little to no stretch will be in the boyfriend jeans or straight leg style. Skinny high-rise denim needs some sort of lycra or stretches in the denim to provide a comfortable fit.

In my opinion, the best rise is between 10”-11” and suits most people comfortably. My all-time favorite high-rise denim jeans are Madewell’s Roadtripper!
