What to Buy at the SHOPBOP Sale!

It’s our favorite time of the year! Shopbop’s annual “buy more, save more sale”, I know many of you are busy entertaining family, prepping for Thanksgiving, and dare I say it checking out of work early; so I’ve compiled some of the best items to invest in during the sale! As the weather cools off now is the time to invest in quality over quantity, scroll down and see my latest suggestions from SHOPBOP...

This is definitely one trend that seems to garner mixed reviews from fashion fans. I personally love the look of styling an oversized faux fur coat with a pair of leather leggings or dark denim jeans. My only issue with this is that San Francisco just isn’t color enough to support the heavy fur-lined style. What I’ve been seeing most is colored faux furs in bold shades, of pink, pale blue, and of course an array of prints.

The paperboy cap is holding strong since my last trend report and is literally flying off the shelves. The trend has evolved to become accessorized with grommets, rings, woven bands, and colored fabrics. One of my top sale picks this month is the mustard yellow cap by Brixton women. The color is perfect for this time of year, and will be sure to stand out amongst similar styles.

NEWS FLASH! If you’re closet is lacking anything it’s a go-to button-down, you know the one you wear year-round and always get compliments on? Ditch your stained or tattered shirt and invest in one that fits in all the right places. Lately, I’ve been gravitating towards PJ style blouses in silky fabrics – they look effortlessly sexy when worn tucked into a pair of jeans and belted!

This style is obviously one that has taken an influence from 60-70s styles. Either in a flared wide leg or high-waisted trouser are universal pants that will get plenty of wear in your winter wardrobe.  Two of my favorite ways to style these is with a cropped sweater or a long sleeve silk blouse. If you’re looking to add another layer go for a long line shearling or belted suede coat.

Fall Shoes - SHOPBOP Fall Sale, Your Shopping Checklist via. www.birdieshoots.com

For the longest time I was not a fan of the squared toe or the scrunched-front heel. I had seen several of my favorite street style bloggers styling them with basics, like straight leg denim or t-shirt dresses and grew to embrace the look. This may be reserved for those who don’t have to battle winter weather like snow, but on the other hand they could be purchased in a nude or white leather and stored for spring – I have an inkling the style is here to stay.
