How to Prep your Skin For the Summer Season with Olay Complete
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Olay. The opinions and text are all mine.
It's the dog days of summer, and most of us are seeking relief from the sun, but is your skincare routine holding you back? The warmer months can be a tricky season to prepare for, many of us love to finally feel the first taste of the summer, but loathe the things that the sun does to our skin. To aid you in putting your best face forward I've rounded up a few ways to help prep your skin before heading out to the sunshine! Continue reading to see how I'm incorporating Olay Complete with SPF.
Apply Under your Makeup: If your foundation doesn't have SPF in the formula, then applying sunscreen before is a must. Even if your foundation or BB Cream claims to incorporate a high SPF level, a sunscreen should also be used. Opt for a formula that provides long-lasting hydration like Olay Complete All-Day Moisturizer SPF 15. The formula is ultra lightweight and super easy to wear which makes it the perfect base to add to your beauty routine.

Reapply Often: Even with long-wear formulas, reapplying often is needed. If your planning on spending a lot of time in the sun, make sure to reapply every 2 hours or more frequently after swimming. No need to skimp on coverage either, in general, 1 oz. is enough coverage for an adult. Olay Complete easily blends in with skin and is Oil-free, so it won't leave you with a greasy finish.
Don't Be Fooled by a Sunless Tan: May of us prep for vacation season with a spray tan. While the instant glow is nice, it can be a bit deceiving when it comes time to actually catch some rays. Just because your skin appears tanner doesn't mean it actually is! It's always important to still continue to apply sunscreen as often as you would if you hadn't sunless tanned. (see the tanners I recommend here.)
Your Not in the Clear on Cloudy Days: Just because the sun isn't shining doesn't mean you should skip the SPF. Even on cloudy days, you can still get burned. In fact, some of my worst sunburns were a result of a lack of sunscreen on cloudy afternoons.
Get into the Daily Habit: I started using Olay Complete, first thing after washing my face and applying serum each morning. I find that a clean slate allows the product to sink deeper into the skin's surface. It's not only super lightweight but also, incredibly moisturizing, plus it non-comedogenic so it won't clog pores!
What role does sunscreen pay in your skincare routine? Are you a daily user, or only apply during trips or vacations? Olay Complete can be purchased at SAM’S CLUB!
