Best of Clean Beauty - Skin & Body Care Products

Last year I made a conscious effort to incorporate more natural beauty products into my beauty routine. Much of this choice was influenced after receiving repeated questions to provide more natural/organic/cruelty free products - so thank you! The initial switch started after finding out I was pregnant and wanting to change to an aluminum-free, all-natural deodorant. Soon after I realized that having a skincare routine that favored the natural > chemical would not only be better for me, but also for my skin in the long run. So without further adieu here are my favorite go-to natural beauty products this far.

Kopari Coconut Melt

I know, I am late to the party when it comes to testing Kopari products! This was one product that I had on my list for months. I finally gave in and purchased a container in the beginning of November after being fed up with my then moisturizer. The product itself is SOLID coconut oil and isn’t necessarily the cheapest product. A 7 oz. container will run you close to $40, but a little goes a long way with this!

The application can be tricky, but when applied after a shower seeps right into skin and is incredibly hydrating. I’ve even converted Kevin into a fan, which is hard to do when it comes to new products!

Herbivore Botanicals - All Natural Phoenix Facial Oil

I am OBSESSED with Herbivore botanicals! Ever since trying their Rose Mist a few years ago I’ve been hooked on incorporating their skin care line into my routine. This fall I picked up the Herbivore Oil Trio and feel hard for the Phoenix Facial Oil. I swapped out my then facial oil for this and immediately noticed a change in texture of my skin. The product leaves the skin feeling hydrated and silky smooth, which is the perfect canvas for makeup application.

The best thing about this product is it’s 100% Natural and vegan, and is truly a premium quality oil.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

I’ll be honest when I say I was hesitant to purchase this product. Even with a ton of positive reviews, I wasn’t sure if the hype was more behind Marianna Hewitt being the creator or the product itself. Well, I can say that the hype is real, and this product is pretty incredible! Again, she nailed the packaging design and it’s not a bad looking mask to keep on the counter top. Aside from the outer design, this mask is MADE for those who battle with dry skin. When I use this I actually leave it on and simply blend into the skin surface at the 10-minute marker. The name also says a lot about it being perfect for the frequent flyer! I know a TON of travel bloggers who swear by this mask as well!

Grown Alchemist Body Cleanser

As if the sleek packaging isn’t enough to entice you to give this 100% vegan brand a try, the praise alone will! I’m currently using two additional products from the line, but the body cleanser was a clear repurchase for us. The Bergamot/Rosewood scent definitely favors a male scent, but I actually find it to be refreshing. The product is gentle on the skin and definitely gives off that, “clean” feeling without leaving any nasty residues on the skin surface.

TATA Harper Purifying Mask

This is one product that’s been in my routine for years! I received a mask sampler set a few Christmases ago and haven’t looked back! While I love sheet masks (and other formulas) this purifying mask is incredible! The consistency of the TATA Harper Purifying Mask is thicker than the average formula, but gives a deep clean and leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed. The price tag is a bit steeper, but the ingredients are clean and upfront; plus, it’ll last you months with consistent use!

COOLA Dawn Patrol™ Classic Makeup Primer SPF 30

COOLA is another household brand that I purchase plenty of products from. Most of their products are certified “clean” including their sun care line and assorted beauty products. My favorite skin primer by far happens to be their Dawn Patrol Primer, which includes an SPF 30! I’m actually just about done with my current bottle, which says a lot considering a little product goes a long way. So what makes this a standout among other primers?

The biggest perk for me is that this does not clog my pores and blends beautifully with my entire skin-makeup application. I know this may not seem like a big deal for some, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used a serum, then applied a primer and find that it doesn’t set and instead builds up and clumps on the skin (GROSS!) The product consistency does feel slightly greasy when applying, but quickly melts into the skin surface for balanced skin tone.

BITE BEAUTY Agave Lip Mask

BITE Beauty is another constant in my beauty routine. I love how hydrating their lipstick formulas are, not to mention their shade range is pretty incredible! Side note, did you know you can actually go into one of their brick and mortar stores and create your own shade? If you do end up wanting to check them out then definitely pick up the Agave Lip Mask! I personally prefer the clear color and swear by it in my nighttime routine or when my lips are feeling extra chapped. The product glides onto lips seamlessly and can also be used with a lip scrub! The only thing I’d change is the application, since this does come in a tube, you’ll need to use your finger to apply. I simply apply any excess to my cuticles!

Native Coconut & Vanilla Deodorant

Out of the 8 recommended natural deodorants Native was by-far one the best I tried! The Coconut & Vanilla was the stand out winner in my book! The scent was more, ‘clean’ than anything and blended into the skin nicely. I did also try the cucumber Mint scent, but found I preferred the Coconut a bit more. One thing to note is that switching to a natural deodorant requires patience!

Your body takes some time to adjust and you may to re-apply more frequently in the beginning. After about 3-weeks of wear, constant application was no longer needed. The deodorant itself contains no artificial fragrances, preservatives, or dyes, and provides long-lasting wetness and odor protection.

Tom's of Maine Whole Care with Fluoride Natural Toothpaste Peppermint

In complete transparency I haven’t used any Tom’s of Maine products since I was a little girl (I loved their flavored fluoride!) The brand was actually kind enough to reach out and send over a few different products for me to try, including this toothpaste. When it came time to start switching to non-toxic products toothpaste was the last thing I had thought to swap. It was actually one welcome change that I preferred instantly! The peppermint flavor left my month feeling refreshed and much cleaner than the previous whitening brands I used.
