Winter Nail Care Favorites

Even as a beauty junkie, I always error on the minimal side when it comes to my nails. Up until few year ago, I preferred them clipped, cleaned, and painted with a solid color. With the surge of nail trends, I’ve felt myself stepping outside of my bubble and trying new things. I love the look of geometric nail art and really love the style of negative space or two-toned polish choices.

This winter I’m growing more aquatinted with polish shades of metallic and shimmer, especially when paired with a matte top coat. The look is sleek and simplistic but, also has an unexpected edge. When painting my nails at home I try my best to prep so the design or polish will last. One step I always make sure to do after wiping down nails is to use a hand scrub. Personally, I’ve gone accustomed to using Ritual Cosmetics. I received it in a Glossybox about a year ago and have been using it religiously ever since.

The product leaves skin feeling super soft and adds a touch of moisture to the nail beds. Another trick I've picked up is to always apply both a base and top coat. This protects nails and makes polish glide on nails much smoother (i.e. no pesky bubbles or bumps). IT also helps nails from becoming stained or overly dry when taking off polish.
